How long do TikTok stories last?

24 hours from when the creator posts them. After that, they disappear from TikTok and can no longer be downloaded.

Can I download a story after it expired?

No. Once a TikTok story expires, the file is no longer accessible. You need to download it while it's still live.

Can I download stories from private accounts?

No. VidsSave can only access content from public profiles. If the account is private, the story won't load.

Will the creator know I downloaded their story?

VidsSave doesn't interact with your TikTok account. We process the link you give us — no login, no account connection. Whether TikTok shows your view depends on if you watched the story in the app before copying the link.

What's the difference between a TikTok story and a regular TikTok video?

A story is temporary — it disappears after 24 hours and doesn't show on the creator's profile grid. A regular video stays permanently until the creator deletes it.

Why can't I find the Copy Link option for a story?

Some creators disable sharing on their stories. If you don't see the Copy Link button in the share menu, the creator has turned off that option and the story can't be downloaded through external tools.

Can I extract just the audio (MP3) from a TikTok?

Yes! After pasting the video link and clicking Download, you will see a list of available formats. Simply look for the 'Audio' or 'MP3' option to save only the sound from the video.

Why does my download fail sometimes?

Downloads usually fail if the video has been deleted, set to private, or region-blocked by TikTok. Occasionally, TikTok updates its systems which can cause temporary interruptions until we update our servers.

Does VidsSave keep a copy of downloaded videos?
