Can I download Instagram Stories anonymously?

Yes. When you download a Story through VidsSave, your Instagram account is not involved. The Story owner's viewer list will not show your name.

Can I download Stories from private accounts?

No. VidsSave can only access Stories from public Instagram profiles. Private accounts are not accessible.

What happens if the Story has expired?

Our tool can only download currently active Stories. If the 24-hour window has passed and the Story has expired, it can no longer be retrieved. For saved Stories, use our Highlights downloader instead.

Can I download Story Highlights?

Yes, but you should use our dedicated Highlights Downloader tool for that. Highlights are permanent and do not expire, unlike regular Stories.

Are both video and photo Stories supported?

Yes. Video Stories are saved as MP4 files and photo Stories are saved as JPG files. Both are downloaded in the original quality the creator uploaded.

What formats and quality options are available?

Output formats depend on the source platform. Most videos are delivered as MP4 files. Quality options (such as HD or SD) are shown when available — the tool retrieves whatever resolutions the platform provides. Audio from SoundCloud is delivered as MP3. Photos from Instagram and Pinterest are saved as JPG.

Do I need to create an account or log in?

No. VidsSave does not require registration or login. You do not need to enter your social media credentials. The tool only needs the public URL of the post you want to download.

Can I download private or protected content?

VidsSave can only access content that is publicly available. Videos from private accounts, password-protected posts, or DRM-encrypted streams (such as Netflix or Disney+) cannot be downloaded. If a creator has set their content to private, the tool will not be able to retrieve it.

Does VidsSave store downloaded files or personal data?

No. VidsSave does not store downloaded files on its servers. The tool fetches media from the original platform and delivers it directly to your browser. We do not track your download history, and we do not collect personal information beyond what is necessary for the site to function.
